And oleic acid, vitamins D and E, and a nutrient called D-mannoheptulose encourage cell turnover and collagen production, processes that slow down with age.
A superfood for the skin, the juices in cucumber are packed with proteins, lipids, vitamin C and other beneficial minerals that have emollient properties, making it an excellent way to naturally moisturise and soften skin. Cucumber also has an astringent effect, so it refreshes your complexion while soothing any unwanted puffiness.
With natural medicinal properties that date back more than 4000 years, aloe vera is an ancient therapeutic plant that’s famous for its cooling and calming properties. Sodium hyaluronate has a lower molecular weight than hyaluronic acid, therefore it’s small enough to penetrate the epidermis, or top layer of the skin. In turn, it can improve hydration from the underlying skin layers. When applied topically, it attracts moisture in skin cells. This reduces dryness and locks in moisture by increasing skin hydration.
Marula oil is high in antioxidants, such as phenolic compounds and vitamins E and C, which fight free radicals and may stave off skin damage caused by the ultraviolet rays of the sun and pollution, essential fatty acids, and amino acids. It’s widely used as an ingredient in skincare products, and is beneficial for oily, acne-prone, dry, and aging skin.
